Ingredients
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine the coconut milk, water, turmeric, and salt. Stir well.
- Add the rinsed rice and olive oil to the pot and stir again.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before fluffing and serving.
Notes
Make sure to rinse the rice to avoid a gluggy texture. Letting the rice rest helps absorb the flavors.
