A stunning and delicious Christmas Tree Stuffed Bread filled with cheese and vegetables, perfect for holiday festivities.
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped spinach
- 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 beaten egg (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture; mix until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll out into a large triangle shape (¼ inch thick).
- On one half of the triangle, layer shredded mozzarella, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes.
- Fold the other half of the triangle over, cut vertical strips from the top to the trunk, and twist each strip to form branches.
- Place shaped bread on a lined baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
