Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate
- 100g unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 150g sugar
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 50g cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 250ml heavy cream
- 50g icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl until smooth.
- Whisk the eggs and sugar in a separate bowl until pale and foamy.
- Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, and fold to combine.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper, spread the batter evenly, and smooth with a spatula.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the sponge cool on a wire rack.
- Whip the heavy cream with icing sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the cooled sponge and roll it up carefully.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving.
