Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of chewy cookie dough and melted chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns brown; let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and blend well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and chunks.
  8. Scoop out tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a salty-sweet taste, sprinkle a little sea salt on top of the cookies before baking.
