Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 cup tahini sauce


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Coat the chicken thighs evenly in the spice mixture and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken thighs for 6-8 minutes on each side until cooked through and nicely charred.
  5. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.
  6. Warm the pita breads on the grill for 1-2 minutes until soft.
  7. Assemble the shawarma by layering sliced chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and drizzling with tahini sauce.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
