Description

A delightful dish featuring tender chicken with a flavorful lemon sauce, perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon pepper (freshly ground, or to taste)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, cut in half lengthwise)
  • 1 large lemon (sliced into thin rounds, seeds removed)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
  • ½ cup white wine (dry)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
  • 2 tablespoons parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix the flour, salt, and pepper together.
  2. In another dish, beat the eggs until mixed well.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture. Make sure to coat well.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté the lemon slices for a couple of minutes until they start to soften.
  6. Add the chicken broth, white wine, and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir well.
  7. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of flour and the butter until the sauce thickens.
  8. Add the chicken back into the sauce and let it simmer briefly.
  9. Serve the Chicken French hot, garnished with parsley.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken for a crispy texture. Fresh lemon juice is recommended over bottled for the best flavor.
