Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Scallions for garnish
- Rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
- Marinate the chicken in the sauce for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later.
- Grill or bake the chicken until fully cooked and caramelized, brushing with the reserved marinade occasionally.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve it over rice or noodles, garnished with scallions.
