Description

A hearty dish combining spicy smoked sausage with bell peppers and fluffy rice, simmered in a savory broth.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth


Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the diced bell peppers and cook for another few minutes.
  5. Add the rice and Cajun seasoning, mixing well.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid, about 20 minutes.
  8. Fluff with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

For extra heat, consider adding diced jalapeños or a few dashes of hot sauce. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
