Description
A creamy and colorful bow tie pasta salad loaded with cheddar cheese, ham, peas, and bell pepper. Tossed in a sweet and tangy dressing—perfect for potlucks or weekday lunches.
Ingredients
- 1 pound bow tie pasta
- 1 cup diced cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced ham
- 3 tablespoons finely diced white onion
- ½ cup frozen peas (thawed)
- ½ cup finely diced red bell pepper
Dressing:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons sweet relish
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil the pasta until al dente according to package directions. Rinse under cold water and drain well.
- In a small bowl, whisk together all the dressing ingredients.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the pasta, ham, cheese, onion, peas, and bell pepper.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to coat evenly.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving for the best flavor.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute part of the mayo with Greek yogurt. Omit ham for a vegetarian option or swap with turkey or chicken.
