Ingredients
- Olive Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Garlic – 3 cloves, minced
- Onion – 1 large, finely chopped
- Ground beef – 1 pound
- Tomato sauce – 2 cups
- Red wine – 1/2 cup (optional)
- Dried oregano – 1 teaspoon
- Salt and pepper – to taste
- Pasta – 12 ounces
- Fresh basil leaves – for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese – for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until onion is translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Pour in tomato sauce and red wine. Stir in dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
- Cook pasta in a pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving a cup of pasta water.
- Toss cooked pasta with the meat sauce in the skillet, adding reserved pasta water if needed. Serve hot, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
