Description

A warm and hearty casserole featuring layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy potatoes, and rich melted cheese, perfect for family dinners and comfort food cravings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or preferred variety)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion, and drain excess fat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add half of the browned beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef layer.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining sliced potatoes, beef mixture, and soup mixture.
  8. Top with shredded cheese.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes, until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating sautéed vegetables or adjusting seasonings to your preference.
