Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Corn tortillas
  • Lettuce, for garnish
  • Sliced avocado, for garnish
  • Bang bang sauce: 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon Sriracha


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, and fry in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove shrimp and drain on paper towels.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place shrimp on corn tortillas, drizzle with bang bang sauce, and top with lettuce and avocado. Serve immediately.

Notes
