A delightful banana bread that combines the rich flavor of overripe bananas with sweet chocolate chips, perfect for a snack or breakfast.
Ingredients
- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan and set it aside.
- Mash the bananas in a bowl and set aside.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and both sugars using a hand mixer.
- Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Fold in the chocolate chips, saving some for sprinkling on top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 minutes.
- Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
Notes
Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness; do not overmix the batter to maintain fluffiness.
