Description

A delightful banana bread that combines the rich flavor of overripe bananas with sweet chocolate chips, perfect for a snack or breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. Mash the bananas in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and both sugars using a hand mixer.
  4. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Fold in the chocolate chips, saving some for sprinkling on top.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 minutes.
  7. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness; do not overmix the batter to maintain fluffiness.
