Description

A delicious fusion of banana bread and brownies, these bars are fudgy, easy to make, and perfect for using up overripe bananas.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until blended.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Ensure bananas are very ripe for optimal sweetness. Consider using dark chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey flavor.
