A delicious fusion of banana bread and brownies, these bars are fudgy, easy to make, and perfect for using up overripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
- Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
Ensure bananas are very ripe for optimal sweetness. Consider using dark chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey flavor.
