1 cup fresh basil leaves, washed and dried ½ cup extra virgin olive oil ¼ cup balsamic vinegar (aged preferred) 12 garlic cloves, minced 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for emulsification) 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional) Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Wash and Dry Basil – Rinse basil leaves thoroughly, then pat dry. 2. Measure Ingredients – Prepare all ingredients before blending. 3. Blend or Whisk – Add basil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, mustard (if using), honey, salt, and pepper to a blender. Slowly stream in olive oil while blending until smooth and emulsified. 4. Taste and Adjust – Add more honey for sweetness, vinegar for tang, or olive oil for richness. 5. Serve or Store – Use immediately, or transfer to a jar and refrigerate for up to 5–7 days.

Notes

For a creamier dressing, blend in a tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese. Shake or stir well before each use.
