Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and gather all your ingredients.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until cooked through and the internal temperature reads 165°F (75°C).
- Top each piece with marinara sauce and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return to the oven for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired and serve.
