Description

Delicious and easy-to-make beef pies, perfect for parties or a quick snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the onion and garlic until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef and brown it until it’s no longer pink.
  4. Stir in the beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and thyme. Let it simmer until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles that fit your mini pie tins.
  6. Fill each pastry with the beef mixture.
  7. Top with another pastry circle and seal the edges.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and place in the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving or freeze for later use.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the pastries to prevent explosions, and let them cool before serving.
