Delicious and easy-to-make beef pies, perfect for parties or a quick snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef stock
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook the onion and garlic until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and brown it until it’s no longer pink.
- Stir in the beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and thyme. Let it simmer until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles that fit your mini pie tins.
- Fill each pastry with the beef mixture.
- Top with another pastry circle and seal the edges.
- Brush with beaten egg and place in the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving or freeze for later use.
Notes
Avoid overfilling the pastries to prevent explosions, and let them cool before serving.
