Description

A delightful and elegant Vanilla Yule Log, perfect for holiday celebrations, featuring light sponge cake and rich cream filling.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 250 milliliters heavy cream
  • 50 grams powdered sugar
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Powdered sugar for dusting the towel


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Whisk together eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift in flour and baking powder, and gently fold into the mixture.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Pour batter into a lined baking pan and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Turn the cake out onto a powdered sugar-dusted towel and roll it immediately while warm.
  7. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract to stiff peaks.
  8. Unroll the cooled cake and spread whipped cream evenly, then roll back up without the towel.
  9. Dust the Yule Log with cocoa powder and decorate as desired.
  10. Slice and serve to enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the sponge is cooled completely before adding the cream filling to avoid mess.
