A delightful and elegant Vanilla Yule Log, perfect for holiday celebrations, featuring light sponge cake and rich cream filling.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 100 grams sugar
- 100 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 250 milliliters heavy cream
- 50 grams powdered sugar
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Powdered sugar for dusting the towel
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Whisk together eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Sift in flour and baking powder, and gently fold into the mixture.
- Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Pour batter into a lined baking pan and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Turn the cake out onto a powdered sugar-dusted towel and roll it immediately while warm.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract to stiff peaks.
- Unroll the cooled cake and spread whipped cream evenly, then roll back up without the towel.
- Dust the Yule Log with cocoa powder and decorate as desired.
- Slice and serve to enjoy!
